Important Information and Instructions for ECML PKDD 2026 Participants

Dear ECML PKDD 2026 Participants,

As we get closer to the conference, we would like to share a few important organizational and logistical instructions to help everyone enjoy a smooth, safe, and pleasant conference experience in Naples.

Authors and Presenters

If you are presenting a paper at ECML PKDD 2026, please carefully follow the instructions provided by the Chairs of your respective track regarding the date, time, format, and organization of your presentation.

We strongly recommend that all presenters:

  • carefully check the conference programme on the Whova app;
  • verify the exact day, time, and room of their session;
  • arrive at the assigned room before the beginning of the session;
  • introduce themselves to the Session Chair and make sure that everything required for their presentation is in order.

Please do not rely on previous versions of the programme, as minor scheduling adjustments may occur. The programme available through the Whova app should therefore be checked regularly.

Session Chairs

Session Chairs play an essential role in ensuring the smooth running of the scientific programme.

In addition to managing the timing and discussion of the session, Session Chairs are kindly requested to record any no-shows and communicate them promptly to the Chairs of the corresponding track.

This information is important for the correct management of the scientific programme and conference records.

General Participants and Code of Conduct

All participants are expected to comply with the ECML PKDD Code of Conduct and conference policies, available on the conference website.

We are committed to providing a professional, inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment for everyone attending the conference.

A few days before the conference, we will also publish a short logistical orientation video. The video will help participants become familiar with the conference venue, including the location of the rooms hosting the parallel sessions and the theatre hosting the main plenary sessions.

We strongly encourage you to watch it before arriving at the venue.

Safety and Medical Assistance

For the entire duration of ECML PKDD 2026, the conference venue will be supported by dedicated medical assistance and fire-safety personnel.

Their presence should not be interpreted as indicating any particular safety concern. These services are part of the safety measures required under Italian regulations for an event of this size and are provided for the protection and assistance of all participants.

Our volunteers and conference staff will be able to direct you to the appropriate personnel should any assistance be required.

Sustainability at ECML PKDD 2026

We are making a conscious effort to reduce the environmental footprint of the conference.

Water dispensers will be available at several locations throughout the conference venue, and every participant will receive a reusable water bottle as part of the conference kit. We encourage you to refill your bottle during the conference rather than using disposable plastic bottles.

This is one of several small measures through which ECML PKDD 2026 aims to contribute to a more environmentally sustainable scientific event.

Materials used during the conference will, wherever possible, be recyclable, biodegradable, or fully compostable, including the tableware and other materials used during lunch and coffee breaks.

We kindly ask all participants to help us in this effort by using the appropriate waste collection points available throughout the venue.

Need Help? Look for the Blue “10”!

A large team of volunteers will be available throughout the conference venue to assist participants.

You will easily recognize them: our volunteers will be wearing blue T-shirts with the number “10” on the back.

Please feel free to approach them for directions, information about rooms and sessions, logistical questions, or any other assistance you may need.

They are there to help you.

Before Coming to the Conference

Please remember to:

  • check your programme regularly through the Whova app;
  • verify the location and timing of the sessions you wish to attend;
  • watch the logistical orientation video once it becomes available;
  • familiarize yourself with the conference Code of Conduct;
  • bring your reusable conference bottle with you each day;
  • and do not hesitate to ask our volunteers whenever you need assistance.

We are working hard to make ECML PKDD 2026 in Naples not only an outstanding scientific event, but also a welcoming, well-organized, safe, and environmentally responsible experience for our entire community.

We very much look forward to welcoming you to Naples!
