FAQ 2. Question: Can my paper be presented remotely, by a proxy, or in my absence?
Answer: No. ECML PKDD 2026 is an in-person conference, and all accepted papers must be presented in person by one of the paper's authors.
Remote presentations, pre-recorded presentations, proxy presentations by non-authors, and author substitutions are not permitted.
At least one registered author must attend the conference and deliver the presentation in the assigned session. Papers for which no author is present to give the presentation will be considered "no-shows."
Please note that no-show papers may be removed from the conference proceedings and associated digital libraries in accordance with the conference publication policy.
Exceptions will be considered only under extraordinary and documented circumstances and must be explicitly approved in advance by the General Chairs. However, exceptional requests will be considered only starting one month before the conference.
