It's possible to travel to Vilnius by plane, train, bus or car.

Traveling via carriers:

  • Bolt — Most common carrier in Vilnius, download Bolt app here
  • Uber — Second largest carrier in Vilnius.

Preliminary price traveling with carriers: airport to hotel 5-12 Eur, ~10 min (depending on time and demand).

Public Transport in Vilnius

  • Students with a valid student card can get a 50% discount. If you plan buy a ticket with a student discount, you will need to have your student card at hand.

  • Public transport fares are based on journey length, with options for 30 or 60 minutes at €0.65 and €0.90 respectively. Tickets allow unlimited transfers within the specified time.

  • Purchase your public transport ticket through various apps like Trafi, offering maps, routes, timetables, and real-time waiting updates. You can download Trafi from the App Store or Google Play. Please remember to activate your ticket on the Trafi app upon boarding.

  • Airport-Venue (Europa bus stop), with bus 3G (30 min time ticket). The trip will take around 15min, fare for a 30 min price ticket is 0.65 Eur (0.33 Eur if you have a student card).

Arrival Options

Plane

Vilnius airport (VNO) offers direct flights from numerous European cities, making it easily accessible by air. Situated just 7 km from the city center, the airport provides convenient proximity for travelers.

 

The second nearest airport is Kaunas airport (KUN) located 100 km from Vilnius. From there, travelers can take a direct bus or train to Vilnius city center.

Train

There is a direct train connection between Vilnius and Warsaw. The train arrives to Vilnius train station, which is located in the city center.

 

Ferry

There is a ferry connection between Klaipeda and Kiel, Germany. The ferry arrives at Klaipeda port, which is 300 km from Vilnius. There is a direct bus and train from Klaipeda to Vilnius.

Car

Traveling by car is feasible from all European countries, with well-maintained main roads. The drive from Berlin to Vilnius takes about 12 hours.
